Community Involvement

The entire team at Malta Animal Hospital is proud to be a member of this community! Take a look at some of the activities and events in the Capital District that keep us in touch with our pets and their owners:

CARES Project

Our commitment to helping pets in our community inspired us to establish the Malta Animal Hospital CARES Project. Our CARES Project is supported by the donations of generous clients and pet owners in the community. All money donated is used to help homeless pets, companion animals in crisis, natural disasters, and other cases as we see fit.

We always appreciate donations to this fund, which you can make directly to the hospital or online through our partnership with the Veterinary Care Foundation (VCF), a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation. The VCF helps veterinary practices fund their discounted and no-charge cases, and a full 100% of all money donated goes directly to veterinary practices. Donators will be provided with the appropriate tax forms if requested. Click here to donate today!

Carlmella Pet Care Fundraiser

The Malta Animal Hospital CARES Project is one the worthy beneficiaries of this lovely event held on September 17, 2023. This Italian dinner fundraiser was established to memorialize and honor a beloved dog named Carl who recently passed away from cancer, as well as the people and pets that touched the lives of Carl’s family.

Supporters of this fundraiser are not only treating themselves to a great meal, they’re helping save animals by providing funds for life-saving veterinary care for pets in need. 100% of Malta Animal Hospital’s CARES Project goes directly to providing veterinary care to pets who are in urgent need. Carl’s family wants to make sure that other pet owners don’t feel alone in their fight to give their pets the best life possible. If you’re interested in donating, please let us know today!

COMMUNITY DOG PARK PROJECT

Dr. Zaidel is a co-founder and Treasurer of Eastline Romp & Play, a not for profit corporation that has partnered with the Town of Malta to develop and maintain a dog park within the community. This is an exciting project, and we will post any progress toward our goal!

We participate in the Town of Malta Community Day each year. Come join us!

PREPARING THE NEXT GENERATION

Malta Animal Hospital welcomes interns from high school and college, in veterinary and veterinary technician programs. Contact us for more information.

SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Every year, we conduct a course on veterinary medicine for sixth, seventh, and eighth graders, through the Shenendehowa school district’s SAGE Saturday Scholars program.

You can also find us participating in the annual SAGE/SHEN Science and Health Discovery Night, a terrific family event.

Recently, members of our team enjoyed reading to the younger students in our community and other school programs.

SUPPORTING LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS

We provide fundraising support to some local organizations including the breast cancer fund, wildlife rescue, the area shelter, Falling Leaves 5K, Malta Ambulance Corps, and a local Team in Training runner in the marathon to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
