We are a locally owned 7 Doctor veterinary practice that is committed to providing the best possible care and service to our pet patients and their family while also providing a fun, rewarding workplace for our team.
We are open Mon-Thurs 8a-8p, Fridays 8a-6pm and Saturdays 8a-4p and are seeking a motivated, people-oriented Licensed veterinary Technician. A love for animals and commitment to excellent care are all you need to get started with us here at Malta Animal Hospital!
About This Position
We expect that as a veterinary professional you have basic patient care skills and understand the day-to-day requirements of seeing and treating patients. In addition to those duties, you’ll be successful in this position if you:
- Work great in a team
- Providing general nursing care
- Examining animals and checking vitals in preparation for the Veterinarian
- Taking X-rays of animals
- Have knowledge and experience in animal handling
- Administering medication and treatments
- Drawing blood samples for testing
- Monitoring animals under anesthesia
- Sterilizing equipment and regularly cleaning examination areas
- Compassion, Empathy, and a sense of Humor

Requirements:
- Active NYS Veterinary Technician License – (MANDATORY)
- The ability to commute to Malta, NY (required)
- The ability to work evening shifts and a rotating Saturday (required)
- A passion for animals and for providing great customer service
- Strong interpersonal, computer literacy, and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Able to work on your feet and lift up to 50 pounds
